Prasert threatened to sue those spreading false news about the signing of the iris scan memorandum of understanding and the drought budget case, noting both cases are still under investigation without any determination of wrongdoing and that clarity should be awaited first.
On 9 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Prasert Chantraruangthong, party-list MP for the Pheu Thai Party, addressed allegations of investigations by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) concerning the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society and Prime Opportunity Fund VCC from Singapore, as well as an examination by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) regarding budget usage for the 2025 drought management enhancement project. He stated both cases remain under DSI and NACC review, with no charges filed against anyone. Regarding the MoU signing with the Singaporean company, he explained he was merely invited to witness the signing, which had already undergone agency verifications. There was no iris scanning involved nor any special privileges or facilitation conditions stipulated. Concerning the NACC's review of the budget plan for enhancing water resource management to address the 2025 drought, he noted that while NACC is still investigating, he has received no official notifications related to this matter. He urged all parties to await NACC’s clear conclusions, warning that premature criticism without investigation results could cause unjust harm. He added that if these issues are politically exploited to cause damage, he will pursue legal measures accordingly.
