Request to Extend Deadline by 1-2 Weeks for Filing Complaint Against Former 44 Move Forward MPs in Section 112 Amendment Case

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has extended the deadline to submit a complaint to the Supreme Court against 44 former Move Forward MPs, citing ongoing examination of case files to ensure consistency with the Constitutional Court's ruling. The extension is expected to be 1-2 weeks.

On 9 March 2026, Mr. Surapong Intarathaworn, Secretary-General of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), spoke about the progress of submitting a complaint on serious ethical violations against the 44 former Move Forward MPs involved in proposing amendments to Criminal Code Section 112, to the Supreme Court. The 30-day deadline falls on 9 March. He said the drafting of the complaint is complete, but the process of verifying facts and documents in the case files to align with the Constitutional Court's ruling is still underway. Due to the extensive content in the complaint, careful review is necessary, so they must request an extension to submit the complaint to the Supreme Court, likely not exceeding 1-2 weeks. The 30-day timeframe for the NACC to submit the complaint is only a procedural guideline, not a legal mandate, so extending the deadline is possible. They need to proceed carefully because the case files contain a large amount of detail but will do so as quickly as possible. After submission, it will be at the Supreme Court's discretion whether to order these former MPs to suspend their duties.
