Anudit Declines to Confirm Whether Kalatham Party Will Join Opposition, Awaits Parliamentary Speaker and Prime Minister Votes

Anudit has yet to confirm whether the Kalatham Party will sit in opposition, stating they will wait for the parliamentary speaker and prime minister votes first, emphasizing that clarity rests with the leading parties forming the government.

At 09:10 on 10 March 2026 GMT+7, Commander Anudit Nakornthap, chair of the Kalatham Party's strategy committee, spoke at the Government House regarding the party's clarity on its political position. He said it remains consistent with what Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat Phromphao, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and chair of Kalatham Party's advisory board, had previously stated—that clarity on which party to join in government depends on the leading parties forming the government. Currently, they must wait for the parliamentary session to open, the vote for the House Speaker, and the vote for Prime Minister first.

When asked about the Bhumjaithai Party (BJT), Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, also BJT leader, had said that ministerial qualifications must consider the Constitutional Court's ruling on ethics. Asked if this was clear, Anudit said that was Bhumjaithai's clear position, but Kalatham Party also has clarity in fulfilling its role.

However, when asked if Kalatham Party would declare its stance now, Anudit reiterated that clarity would come from the leading parties forming the government.
