The Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that the situation in the Middle East remains severe, with no signs that the conflicting countries will return to negotiations. So far, 351 Thais have been evacuated back.
At 11:05 a.m. on 10 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the Middle East Conflict Situation Management and Monitoring Center (CSMC) reported on the ongoing conflict. Mr. Panidol Patchimsawat, Acting Director-General of the Department of Information and Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the overall situation in the region remains intense, with continuous exchanges of missile and drone attacks. Recently, attacks on oil refineries in Bahrain and ongoing strikes in Lebanon have resulted in increased casualties.
There are still no signs that the United States, Israel, and Iran will return to negotiations. The leaders of the conflicting countries maintain a hardline stance, despite calls from several Gulf and neighboring countries affected by the conflict urging a diplomatic resolution. Therefore, close monitoring is necessary, particularly regarding attacks on regional infrastructure.
Mr. Panidol said that so far there are no reports of Thais injured or deceased. However, due to the fragile situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Thais to avoid traveling to the region and advises those still in risky areas to consider leaving promptly. They should also register and provide their location and contact details to the responsible embassy or consulate general.
Additionally, following earlier reports that Qatar Airways had resumed some flights, it has now been confirmed that flights to Bangkok are scheduled for tomorrow.
Regarding assistance to Thais in the area, Mr. Panidol said that the first group of Thais evacuated from Iran on 7 Mar and temporarily staying in Van, Turkey, arrived in Thailand this morning. The group of 23 was welcomed at Suvarnabhumi Airport by Mr. Wichawat Isarapakdi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Meanwhile, a second group of 69 Thais in Iran is scheduled to leave for Van, Turkey, today. Some will return to Thailand on 11 Mar 2026 GMT+7. The Consular Department, the Royal Thai Embassies in Tehran and Ankara, are coordinating closely to facilitate their return journey.
In Iraq, 14 Thais are preparing for evacuation. Coordination is underway by the Royal Thai Embassy in Amman to transfer them to the temporary operations center in Van, Turkey, which will assist and coordinate their return to Thailand.
For other countries, Thai embassies and consulates continue to provide care, facilitate travel, and offer advice to Thais. They are coordinating with airlines and providing essential supplies to those wishing to return, in areas where flights are still operating. They are also liaising with authorities in countries with closed airspace to request transit permissions, enabling Thais to travel to neighboring countries before returning to Thailand or proceeding to third countries by air.
Mr. Panidol added that since the conflict began in the Middle East region, a total of 351 Thais have been assisted and have safely returned to Thailand.
The Thai government remains committed to assisting Thais affected by the conflict in the Middle East to leave dangerous areas as quickly and safely as possible. It also urges Thais still in the region to avoid participating in gatherings or protests in countries experiencing conflict.
