To tackle the energy crisis, it was revealed that the Prime Minister has ordered government agencies and state enterprises to begin Work From Home immediately for areas that do not affect public service operations, along with suspending overseas study and training trips.
At approximately 12:35 PM on 10 March 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertvivattana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, held a press conference regarding the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul’s directives. This follows the conflict in the Middle East impacting Thailand's energy crisis. The Prime Minister has instructed government agencies and state enterprises to immediately implement Work From Home measures for tasks that do not affect public service delivery. This aims to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency in managing government resources. Additionally, all overseas study and training trips are suspended, with activities to be conducted domestically instead.
The Deputy Government Spokesperson added that the Prime Minister emphasized that all agencies must prioritize public service while carrying out these measures and closely monitor the global economic and energy situation to adjust policies appropriately and promptly.
"The government wants all agencies to use resources efficiently and effectively while maintaining full standards of public service," she said.
