The Prime Minister inaugurated the major event THAIFEX – HOREC ASIA 2026, demonstrating Thailand's potential as a gateway linking ASEAN to global markets, and emphasized government support for SMEs to adapt to economic fluctuations.
On 10 Mar 2026 GMT+7 at Impact Muang Thong Thani, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, presided over the opening of THAIFEX – HOREC ASIA 2026. Commerce Minister Supachai Sutthammanoon and senior executives welcomed him amid a lively atmosphere with hotel, restaurant, and catering (HoReCa) entrepreneurs from around the world.
The Prime Minister delivered a keynote speech highlighting that this event reflects Thailand's strength as a regional HoReCa industry hub. Despite current global uncertainties from geopolitical tensions and energy costs, Thailand's resilience and innovation form a crucial foundation for sustainable growth. This year's event is larger than ever, reinforcing confidence in Thailand as a trusted global trade partner. The government is committed to supporting entrepreneurs, especially SMEs, by developing capabilities and expanding markets to maintain competitiveness amid complex global conditions.
Following the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister toured booths showcasing standout kitchen innovations and Thai products, sampling highlighted items such as vegetable-extract seasoning powder (a salt substitute for patients). He also tasted soy milk ice cream and authentic chocolate ice cream from Tak Province. Anutin praised the quality, calling it "the most delicious," and emphasized that Thailand's strengths in products, services, and culture hold vast potential to enhance economic value, both in tourism and exports.
