Peerapun Saleerutwiphak has submitted his resignation as a party-list MP of the United Thai Nation Party, appointing Attawit Suwanpakdee to serve as MP in Parliament in his stead. He declared his intention to continue as party leader behind the scenes.
On 11 March 2026, Mr. Peerapun Saleerutwiphak, leader of the United Thai Nation Party, posted on Facebook that on 10 March 2026, he met with the party's executive board and they agreed that the party continues to enjoy solid support from the public. At the same time, the younger generation within the party possesses the potential, ideas, and energy to help the party grow strongly and sustainably in the future. Therefore, the party should open space and opportunities for young members to take on greater roles, both in policy and in building the party's political networks.
Mr. Peerapun also stated that, for this reason, he volunteers to be the main supporter in promoting and backing the younger generation's efforts with full commitment. This mission requires time, dedication, and close collaboration. At the same time, the party must continue to deliver political achievements and perform strongly in Parliament. Handling both responsibilities simultaneously might limit the full potential of each.
“Therefore, I have proposed that Mr. Attawit Suwanpakdee, the party's deputy leader, take over my parliamentary duties. I am confident that Mr. Attawit possesses the knowledge, ability, and experience necessary to fulfill this role completely and to the maximum benefit of the party and the people.” Mr. Peerapun added,
After thorough discussion and exchange of views, the meeting approved this approach. I have therefore submitted my resignation as a party-list member of Parliament to enable Mr. Attawit to be promoted to serve as the United Thai Nation Party's party-list MP and continue working in Parliament in my place.
He confirmed that he will continue to serve as leader of the United Thai Nation Party with full dedication and will persist in working for the party, the people, and the nation without change. He expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported the party and encouraged him continuously. The trust and support from all are the vital forces that drive him and the party to keep working for the country to the best of their abilities.
