Anutin Discusses Milk Powder Import Issues with Australian Ambassador, Denies Talks on Oil Trade

Anutin posted on Facebook to refute claims of discussing oil trade with the Australian Ambassador during the Middle East war, explaining that the talks focused on trade and investment situations., and issues concerning the import of milk powderunder the agreement.


On 12 Mar 2026 at 07:30 GMT+7, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, posted an English message on his personal Facebook with a photo of Ms. Angela Macdonald, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, following rumors on 11 Mar 2026 that they discussed oil trade during the Middle East conflict at the Thai Khu Fah Building, Government House. The message was translated into Thai as follows.

"On the day I welcomed Ms. Angela Macdonald, Australian Ambassador, at my office for a lunch meeting covering current situations, trade, investment, and solutions to ongoing issues such as milk powder imports under the Australia-Thailand Free Trade Agreement. There were no discussions about oil purchases as reported in the media."
