The Prime Minister affirms that the government will not abandon the three missing Thai crew members following the attack in the Strait of Hormuz, assigning Phiphat and Sihasak to closely monitor and provide full assistance.
On 12 March 2026, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, spoke about the progress regarding the Thai-flagged cargo ship "Mayurinari," which was attacked while sailing through the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in three Thai crew members missing. He stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Transport have integrated their efforts to coordinate assistance through all possible channels to their fullest capacity.
When asked about the latest situation and whether reports on the safety of the three crew members had been received, the Prime Minister said he had received an overall situation report. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, along with Foreign Minister Sihasak Puangketkaew, are directly overseeing the coordination to ensure the swiftest and most efficient care for the Thai crew members still stranded.
“The government is doing everything possible to ensure our crew members are safe and receive the best care, coordinating continuously with all relevant domestic and international agencies,” the Prime Minister said.
