On 12 Mar 2026 GMT+7, reports emerged detailing progress on forming the cabinet under Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The Bhumjaithai Party received 14 ministries totaling 26 positions. Anutin will serve as Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, supported by four deputy ministers: Mr. Songsak Thongsri, Mr. Jeset Thaiset, Mr. Worasit Liangprasit, and Mr. Phonpeer Suwanchavee.
A key highlight is appointing "professionals" to crucial seats to boost confidence, with no deputies interfering. Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas is Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Ms. Supachai Suthamphan is Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce; and Mr. Sihasak Puangketkaew is Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, Mr. Bowornsak Uwanno holds a Deputy Prime Minister post.
On security matters, Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, known as "Big Dul," is promoted to Minister of Defense. Police Lieutenant General Rutthaphon Naowarat ("Big Rut") continues as Minister of Justice. Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn remains Minister of Transport, with Mr. Sanphet Boonyamanee, MP for Songkhla, joining as Deputy Minister alongside Mr. Siripong Angkasulgkrit and Mr. Pattharaphong Pattharaprasit.
In the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Mr. Chainok Chidchob is Minister, with Ms. Nan Boonthida Somchai, MP from Ubon Ratchathani, as Deputy Minister. Mr. Surasak Phanjaroenworakul is Minister of Tourism and Sports. Mr. Suchart Chomklin leads the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Mr. Aknat Promphan is Minister of Energy. Ms. Sabida Thaiset serves as Minister of Culture. Mr. Phatthana Promphat leads the Ministry of Public Health, and Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa is Minister of Industry.
In the legislative branch, it is confirmed that Bhumjaithai nominated Mr. Sophon Sarum as Speaker of the House of Representatives. Ms. Mallika Jirapanuwanich is First Deputy Speaker, and Mr. Lertsak Pattanachayakul from Pheu Thai Party is Second Deputy Speaker. The government whip is Mr. Karavee Prisananantakul.
However, more than 35 cabinet names have been submitted to the Prime Minister as backups, to replace any individuals who fail the vetting process by the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, which coordinates detailed checks from 18 agencies.
