Royal Decree Grants Special Military Ranks to 678 Officers

A royal decree has granted special general military ranks to 182 commissioned officers, and special ranks below general to 496 commissioned and non-commissioned officers.


A reporter noted that on 11 March, the website The Royal Gazette published a Prime Minister's Office announcement regarding the special military rank grants, dated 11 Mar 2026 GMT+7. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul received the royal command. The announcement stated that

It stated that a royal decree has granted special general military ranks to 182 commissioned officers under the Ministry of Defence who have served with good order and beneficial results for the government. These include officers from the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Defence, the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, the Royal Thai Army, Navy, and Air Force. The ranks take effect from 2 Oct 2025 GMT+7 onward.


At the same time, another Prime Minister's Office announcement dated 11 Mar 2026 GMT+7 was published, stating that a royal decree has granted special military ranks below general to 496 commissioned and non-commissioned officers under the Ministry of Defence who have served with good order and beneficial results for the government. These ranks take effect from 2 Oct 2025 GMT+7 onward.
