Receive Letter from No-Drunk-Driving Foundation, Submit to Bhumjaithai Party Requesting Government to Include Road Accident Loss Reduction Policy

Anutin assigned Warawut and Nikorn to receive a letter from the No-Drunk-Driving Foundation requesting the government to include a policy to reduce losses from road accidents. He said he is ready to present it to the policy drafting committee. "Top" believes this government can amend and push through multiple laws.

At 09:30 on 13 March 2026 GMT+7. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, as leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, assigned Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, party-list MP of Bhumjaithai Party, and Mr. Nikorn Chamnong, member of Bhumjaithai Party, to welcome Mr. Prasom Suksawang, chairman of the Bangkok Network of Victims of Drunk Driving and representative of the No-Drunk-Driving Foundation, along with a group of drunk driving victims who submitted a letter requesting the Bhumjaithai Party, as a leading government party, to consider including the policy to reduce losses from road accidents as an important policy of the incoming government.

The Bangkok Network of Victims of Drunk Driving stated that this activity expresses the voice of citizens who have long campaigned to reduce road accident losses. They emphasized there is no political intent or affiliation with any political party or group. It is a call for the government to prioritize policies to reduce losses from road accidents.

Meanwhile, Mr. Warawut said he will coordinate with the government policy drafting team to include this issue because the rate of people suffering road accidents leading to disability and affecting the working-age population further reduces the workforce. Therefore, this is an urgent issue that Thailand must prevent. Including it in government policy will lead to problem-solving. The Prime Minister has stated that if any ministry wants to amend laws, they should submit proposals to the Bhumjaithai Party, which will use parliamentary mechanisms more effectively. He believes this government can amend or push through many laws.

Mr. Warawut further revealed that recently there was news he might join the Ministry of Industry. If so, he will prioritize workplace safety to prevent workers from suffering accidents that cause disability. Therefore, he offered encouragement to everyone and pledged that the political side, including Bhumjaithai Party, whose Silpa-archa family has long worked with people with disabilities since the time of the 21st Prime Minister, Mr. Banharn Silpa-archa, will give this high importance. People with disabilities are key contributors to Thailand's economic development, possessing potential, intellect, and abilities in many dimensions beyond the general population. Thus, the administration will include road safety in the government's policy.
