Profile of Mr. Phonpi, heir to the Suwannachawi political family, who has successfully continued his late father's mission, advancing from MP to prospective Deputy Minister of Interior.


On 13 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Phonpi Suwannachawi, also known as Toei, was born on 25 Nov 1982 GMT+7. He is the eldest son of the late prominent politician Lt. Col. Phairoj Suwannachawi, former Deputy Minister of Commerce, and Lt. Col. Ranongrak Suwannachawi, former Minister of Information and Communication Technology and former Mayor of Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administrative Organization. Lt. Col. Phairoj passed away in 2011. At that time, Lt. Col. Ranongrak Suwannachawi, then serving as MP for Nakhon Ratchasima, announced she would have her three heirs—Mr. Phonpi, Mr. Peeraphon, and Mr. Nattawat Suwannachawi, all her sons—continue Lt. Col. Phairoj's legacy. However, only Mr. Phonpi Suwannachawi successfully secured continuous election as MP for Nakhon Ratchasima's 9th district, continuing the family's political presence.


He completed his undergraduate education.

Career history

- Elected as Member of Parliament for Nakhon Ratchasima in 2007 under the People's Land Party at age 25.

- Re-elected as MP for Nakhon Ratchasima in 2011 with the Chart Pattana Puea Pandin Party.

- Elected as MP for Nakhon Ratchasima in 2013 (election annulled).

- Elected as MP for Nakhon Ratchasima in 2019 representing the Bhumjaithai Party.

- Re-elected as MP for Nakhon Ratchasima in 2023 with the Bhumjaithai Party.

- Elected as MP for Nakhon Ratchasima in 2026 under the Bhumjaithai Party.


During his tenure as Member of Parliament, he was elected to serve in the following roles:
