The Election Commission (EC) explained the need to promptly finalize its decision after the subcommittee adjudicating the Senate vote-rigging case concluded there was no evidence of wrongdoing. It confirmed that the case file is currently under the EC's review process in accordance with prescribed regulations.
On 13 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the Election Commission Office issued a statement updating the progress in reviewing the case concerning the Senate election. It stated that the case file is now undergoing review in accordance with the processes mandated by law and regulations. Regarding news reports about the opinions of Subcommittee No. 36, which adjudicates disputes, this step involves filtering the case file as per regulations and does not introduce any new measures. After Subcommittee No. 36 completes its review, it will prepare its opinion and submit it to the Election Commission Office for further consideration by the Election Commission.
According to the procedural regulations of the Election Commission regarding investigation, inquiry, and adjudication (B.E. 2563, amended in 2023, 5th edition), step 4 requires that once the Election Commission receives the case file from Subcommittee No. 36, it must promptly make a final decision or issue orders. Therefore, the matter remains within the operational phase of the Election Commission Office.
The Election Commission Office affirms that all procedures are conducted in accordance with laws, regulations, and the stipulated case review processes. Each opinion at various stages is independently formed at the discretion of the respective body submitting it but does not bind the Election Commission's final consideration. Should an official ruling be issued, the Election Commission Office will inform the public accordingly.
