The Pheu Thai Party held a meeting of its MPs to push forward 47 bills. Yotsanan expressed confidence that the party will return in the next four years. Julphan rallied morale and urged accelerated work, noting that coalition government negotiations are complete, but ministerial portfolios have not yet been discussed.
At 10:00 a.m. on 14 March 2026, the Pheu Thai Party held a meeting of its Members of Parliament (MPs) ahead of attending the Royal Ceremony opening the parliamentary session. The meeting aimed to prepare and set direction for voting on the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives on 15 March, as well as to plan the push for 47 laws targeting a high-value economy. Present were Mr. Julphan Amornwiwat the leader of the Pheu Thai Party, Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, a party-list MP and Pheu Thai's prime minister candidate, Mr. Suriya Jungrungkit, a party-list MP, and Mr. Prasert Jantraruangthong, the party secretary-general, who co-chaired the meeting. MPs from the Pheu Thai Party attended the meeting in full attendance.
Mr. Yotsanan said, "We must encourage every candidate who may not have been elected this time. I feel that each one truly deserves to be our MP. Over the next two to three weeks, I will try to meet and talk privately with each person to listen to their views and incorporate them into our work as a coalition party. We must be open in our discussions. I acknowledge many of the concerns raised and will strive to adjust over the next four years. If anyone thinks there is something we should do, please come forward. I will adapt and do my best.
If we do our best in these four years, I am confident we will return next time. I am looking at every day from now on, as we begin meeting the public, as a day we are ready for the next election. We have four years and must give our all, not just in areas we won. Learning and adjusting our strategies will help us return once again. "Sometimes my demeanor might seem stern, with or without smiles, but from now on I will prove to each person how we can work together. I emphasize that we can adapt to one another. Over the past two to three weeks, you have seen we have not stopped. We have prepared to enter the parliament, and when it opens, we will propose laws in ways the public will see us as a hopeful party. I encourage everyone to keep up the effort."
Meanwhile, Mr. Julphan opened the meeting by saying that working only at the central level cannot bring the party into parliament; it depends on the candidates' efforts as well. Those seated here are very capable, having overcome fierce competition and structural factors unfavorable to our party, yet they succeeded. The Pheu Thai Party is currently undergoing restructuring. Over the past two to three weeks, the party has held workshops with MPs, candidates who did not pass, and executives multiple times to learn lessons and improve the party's strength. We aim to become a stronger political institution capable of contesting the next election more effectively.
Today, we are moving forward into a coalition government. Negotiations are fully concluded, but ministerial posts have not yet been discussed. Legislative work must change from past practices. Everyone expects us to drive forward our laws. We remain committed to building Thailand into a high-value economy through various laws that serve as components driving progress. Our work will determine the party's fate in the next election. The strong efforts of all of us will help in the next election and allow our friends who were disappointed to return to parliament with full dignity. Thank you for your strong work. The party is ready to support everyone in all aspects. .
