Pheu Thai Unveils Roadmap for 47 Bills, Gains Support from Yoschanan Highlighting Education Reform to Build High-Value Economy

Pheu Thai launches a legislative offensive for the parliamentary session opening, bringing 47 bills to guide Thailand out of the middle-income trap toward becoming a high-income country.

On 14 March 2026 at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters, party leader Julphan Amornwiwat, along with prime minister candidate Yoschanan Wongsawat and party secretary Prasert Chantraruwong, held a press conference outlining the party's direction for the upcoming parliamentary session, emphasizing the use of legal mechanisms as the main tool to transform the country.

Julphan revealed the party plans to push a total of 47 bills divided into four main pillars: infrastructure to support the new economy; standards and rule of law to build confidence through fair and modern legislation; security covering military, food, and social aspects; and support for a high-value economy. He confirmed that 16 key bills are ready to be submitted to parliament for immediate enforcement once the session begins.

Prime minister candidate Yoschanan stressed that education is the foundation for transitioning to a high-value economy. The party’s bills aim to produce a workforce matched to jobs through four strategies: enhancing teacher capacity, centering curriculum development on students, preventing student dropouts, and directly linking education with labor market needs. This reform intends not just to change classrooms but to create a new ecosystem enabling Thais to competently face global volatility.

Party secretary Prasert stated that the 47-bill legislative agenda represents a social covenant reflecting the commitment to creating opportunities and improving quality of life, alongside rigorous oversight of the executive branch. He announced plans to open channels for feedback from all sectors to involve the public in lawmaking, underscoring, “The heart of Pheu Thai is the people.”
