Sabida launched the Lamduan Blossom Festival to continue the tradition of the four Tai tribes in Sisaket 2026, aiming to use culture to develop tourism from a secondary city into a major tourist destination and increase income for local communities.
On 14 March 2026, Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Culture, presided over the opening of the Lamduan Blossom Festival to continue the tradition of the four Tai tribes in Sisaket for 2026, held on 13 March 2026. The event was attended by Mr. Anurat Thampradumjit, Governor of Sisaket, the Sisaket Red Cross president, Mr. Wichit Traisornkul, President of the Sisaket Provincial Administrative Organization, Mr. Siripong Angsakulkiatti, Ms. Jintawan Traisornkul, Member of Parliament for Sisaket, and representatives from government, private sector, and local communities at Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Park, Mueang District, Sisaket Province.
The Lamduan Blossom Festival runs from 11–15 March 2026 to conserve and promote the arts, culture, local wisdom, and lifestyles of the four tribes: Lao, Khmer, Soei, and Yoe. Daytime activities include exhibitions honoring Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, cultural displays of the four tribes, demonstrations and sales of local food, contests for local products and agricultural yields, and Isan cultural performances, alongside tourism promotions to raise awareness of Sisaket Province. Nighttime features a light and sound show titled “The Civilization of Faith: The Spell of Sri Phrutthesuan,” depicting the legend of Sisaket’s founding amidst blooming, fragrant Lamduan flowers filling the event grounds. This initiative uses culture to elevate a secondary tourist city into a major destination, creating economic opportunities, jobs, and increased income for the community.
