Supachai, a Bhumjaithai MP, pointed out that Theng, leader of the Prachachon Party, admitted the system has vulnerabilities that allowed unauthorized access to party member data, which is an issue society cannot overlook. He stressed that society deserves clear answers.
14 Mar 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Supachai Jaisamut Member of Parliament (party-list) and Chair of the Legal Working Group of the Bhumjaithai Party posted on Facebook stating that the case of unauthorized access to party member data is something society cannot overlook. When Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the Prachachon Party and prime ministerial candidate, admitted that the system had vulnerabilities and that member data might have been accessed by outsiders, the key issue is not just an apology or advice to get new ID cards but the responsibility for citizens' personal data.
Supachai further revealed that under the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA), organizations holding citizens' data must strictly protect it, as this data is not just numbers in a system but the rights and safety of data owners. Society has the right to ask why the system had vulnerabilities allowing outside access, whether data protection measures met standards, and who is responsible for this incident.
Saying "no misuse of data has been found" does not eliminate the risk because once data leaks from the system, risks to citizens inevitably arise. In an era where personal data is extremely important, data management is not a trivial matter, and public trust should not be risked. Society therefore deserves clear, transparent, and accountable answers rather than just brief explanations from the Prachachon Party leader, who is soon to be nominated to the House of Representatives for prime minister in a few days. .
