On 14 Mar 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that in the second Anutin Cabinet, Supamas Isarapakdi's name remains on the list of ministers, expected to keep her previous position as Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office.
Profile of Supamas Isarapakdi
Supamas Isarapakdi, nicknamed 'Pung,' was born on 3 Apr 1973 and is currently 52 years old. She is married to Police Colonel Lamphan Patthanaprasert, Deputy Commander of Tourist Police Division 1, and they have one child together. Additionally, the couple decided to foster “Choo,” a child actor from the Indian series "Hanuman: The War of the Gods," because her husband was fond of the child.
Supamas graduated with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Chulalongkorn University and a master's degree in Engineering Management from the same university.
Political Career
After graduating in engineering from Chulalongkorn, Supamas worked for nearly five years at a company affiliated with PTT. She then decided to walk in as a candidate for MP with the Thai Rak Thai Party at the age of 27 and was elected as a Member of Parliament for Bangkok's Constituency 13 (Laksi district) in 2001 at age 28, despite it being her first run, drawing media attention.
Later, she joined the Bhumjaithai Party. In the 2011 election, she ran for MP in Bangkok's Constituency 11 but lost to Surachart Thienthong of the Pheu Thai Party, finishing third. Nevertheless, she maintained a significant political role within Bhumjaithai, with party leader Anutin Charnvirakul appointing her to the party's executive committee.
In the 2019 election, Supamas was positioned as one of the top party-list MPs, ranked eighth, and was elected accordingly. In the 2023 election, she was placed tenth on the party-list for Bhumjaithai, but as the party won only three party-list seats, she missed out on a seat.
Subsequently, when the Pheu Thai Party led the government formation, it brought Bhumjaithai into the coalition, forming an 11-party alliance that successfully pushed Srettha Thavisin to become Prime Minister. Bhumjaithai was allocated eight ministerial seats proportionate to their MPs, divided evenly between four cabinet ministers and four deputy ministers.
Once ministerial seats were allocated, Anutin promoted Supamas to serve as Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, even though she was not an MP. Later, in Anutin Charnvirakul's government, she was appointed Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office.
Additionally, due to her prominent role, Supamas was entrusted by senior party leaders to co-lead the Bangkok MP election campaign on 8 Feb 2026 alongside Eknat Prompan. Although Bhumjaithai's candidates lost to the Pheu Thai Party, the party's popularity in Bangkok increased.
