Introducing Suchart Chomklin, a seasoned figure in Anutin's government and the prospective Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.
On 15 March 2026, if one mentions the name “Suchart Chomklin” it is believed that no one would be unfamiliar with him. Known as Sie Heng, he has an extraordinary career and life story. From a young man in Chonburi with a rather modest family background, he fought his way up from being a real estate salesperson and bank employee to becoming CEO of a real estate company in the Chonburi and Rayong areas before shifting to a political career alongside “Kamnan Por” Somchai Khunpleum. He first entered local politics at age 26 as a “Saen Suk Subdistrict Municipality Councillor” and succeeded.
Since he parted from the established Chonburi political faction to create a “new house” aligned with the Palang Pracharath Party, then the United Thai Nation Party, and finally joining the Bhumjaithai Party as a whole team, the name Suchart Chomklin has consistently held ministerial positions, including Minister of Labor, Deputy Minister of Commerce, and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.
In the recent 2026 election, Sie Heng performed well, winning as MP for Chonburi District 1 after joining forces with the Khunpleum faction to reclaim this district from the People’s Party, along with several other districts in Chonburi. This success has kept his position as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment secure.
He is considered a political rival of MP Rakchanok Srinok from the People’s Party, who has investigated irregularities during his tenure as Minister of Labor, resulting in ongoing legal disputes between them.
