The Interior Ministry Secretary issued an urgent directive to provincial governors nationwide to advance confidence-building, reduce panic, and prevent actions that could affect the local energy distribution system.
Today (15 Mar 2026), Mr. Atsit Sampanrat, Secretary of the Interior Ministry, disclosed after attending a meeting of the Center for Administration and Monitoring of the Middle East Conflict Situation (ศบก.) held on 15 March 2026 at the Parliament building's meeting room, chaired by Prime Minister and Interior Minister Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul.
Three directives were assigned to all provincial governors.
The Interior Ministry Secretary stated that to prepare for potential energy impacts, he has instructed all provincial governors to implement three additional measures as follows:
1. Assign deputy provincial governors to oversee and be responsible for monitoring the energy situation in their provinces, integrating close surveillance of energy conditions and impact trends in collaboration with provincial energy offices, commerce offices, public relations offices, and relevant agencies.
2. Supervise and monitor fuel sales to ensure normal conditions, and immediately report any problems or abnormal situations to the Interior Ministry, with continuous daily updates.
3. Communicate and clarify the energy situation to fuel station operators, fuel distributors (Jobbers), related private sector parties, and the public through district chiefs, subdistrict chiefs, village heads, public announcement towers, and provincial communication channels, emphasizing the dissemination of accurate government information to build confidence, reduce panic, and prevent hoarding or actions that could impact the energy distribution system.
