Profile of Patthana Promphat, son of Santi, securing the health minister position again in the Anutin 2 Cabinet after bringing the Phetchabun faction to join Bhumjaithai in the recent election.
On 16 March 2026, reporters reported that in the Anutin 2 Cabinet lineup, the name of Mr. Patthana Promphat, heir of Mr. Santi Promphat, was among those closely watched because it is expected that Patthana will hold the same position as Minister of Public Health.
Profile of Patthana Promphat
Patthana Promphat, executive of Watergate Pavilion Co., Ltd., is the youngest son of Mr. Santi Promphat and Mrs. Wanphen Promphat, Phetchabun MP from the Palang Pracharath Party. He has an older brother named Mr. Panich Promphat. Patthana once purchased the I.C.E. Tower building in 2017, now known as SKYY9 Centre. At that time, the building was large but abandoned and dilapidated. In 2019, he resold it for 2 billion baht, completing the transfer in August 2019. Later, he confirmed no involvement with the Social Security Fund's purchase of the building for over 7 billion baht, a deal questioned for transparency by Bangkok MP Ms. Rakchanok Srinok and Chonburi MP Mr. Swasut Khumkhong from the Prachachon Party.
On 18 June 2025, while Mr. Anutin was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior in Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra's government, Ministry of Interior order 1753/2568 appointed Mr. Patthana as an expert committee member on real estate development in the Central Land Allocation Committee.
Later, in the first Anutin Cabinet, Patthana, heir of Mr. Santi Promphat—former secretary-general of Palang Pracharath Party, former Minister of Transport, former Minister of Social Development and Human Security, former Deputy Minister of Public Health, and former Deputy Minister of Finance—was listed as Minister of Public Health, replacing his father. This followed questions over Mr. Santi's qualifications during ministerial background checks. If he failed the vetting, Patthana would assume the role. Ultimately, Patthana was officially appointed Minister of Public Health.
On 30 September 2025, Mr. Santi and Mr. Patthana registered as lifetime members of the Bhumjaithai Party. In the latest election in February 2026, the Phetchabun MPs group led by Mr. Santi, who moved to Bhumjaithai, won the entire province.
In the current Anutin 2 Cabinet lineup, Patthana's name remains secure, and he is expected to continue as Minister of Public Health.
