King Grants Royal Titles to Three Senior Monks

The Royal Gazette website has published a proclamation granting royal titles to three monks: one of the Ratcha rank and two of the Samanya rank within the royal monastic hierarchy.

On 16 March 2026, the Royal Gazette website published a royal proclamation stating that His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun has graciously issued royal warrants to confer royal monastic titles on three monks as follows.

1. Phra Sophon Priyatthayaporn has been elevated to Phra Ratcha Sophon Vajraporn, Sunthorn Thammanusit, Maha Khanisorn Boworn Sangharam Kamwasi, a monk of the Ratcha rank residing at Wat Yang Khrua in Roi Et Province. He holds the ecclesiastical rank comprising four subordinate titles: one Phra Kru Palat, one Phra Kru Sangharak, one Phra Kru Samuh, and one Phra Kru Baidika.

2. Phra Kru Bandit Anurak of Wat Koson Rangsarit in Roi Et Province has been granted the Samanya rank royal title, named Phra Bandit Vajiratorn.

3. Phra Maha Atthapong Sirisopho (a ninth-level Pali scripture graduate) of Wat Mahachai, a royal monastery in Maha Sarakham Province, has been awarded the Samanya rank royal title, named Phra Sri Vajrokas.

These appointments are effective from 15 March 2026.

The proclamation was issued on 16 March 2026, the 11th year of the current reign.
