On 17 Mar 2026 GMT+7, a source from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society told Thairath news team that despite circulating rumors that Mr. Pachar Anantasillapong, Permanent Secretary of DE, might be transferred back to the Ministry of Finance or moved to the Ministry of Energy, there is no reasonable basis for such a transfer or position change at this time. This is due to Thailand's economy still facing multiple challenges, partly from the situation in the Middle East. Therefore, it is most important for each agency to continue addressing issues affecting the livelihoods of the people. This priority stands over appointments or transfers by the new Cabinet. Regarding whether there will be a new Minister for DE, no answer could be provided.
Meanwhile, permanent officials at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society continue to work strictly according to Mr. Pachar’s policies. The source expressed uncertainty about the motives behind the rumors, especially as many sectors are impacted by rising oil prices. However, they assessed that Mr. Pachar is not shaken by the rumors and continues working according to the ministry’s policies.
