At 09:59 on 18 March 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Sophon Sarum, Speaker of the National Assembly and the House of Representatives, paid respects at the Phra Siam Devadhiraj Shrine, Phra Suea Muang, Phra Song Muang, Phra Phum Chai Mongkhon, and the Ta-Yai Shrine at the Parliament Building for auspiciousness before carrying out his duties, following his royal appointment as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The Phra Phum Chai Mongkhon and Ta-Yai Shrines were constructed from teak wood, with the original 6-inch Phra Siam Devadhiraj statue brought from the former parliament, along with a newly made 16-inch replica, enshrined together. These sacred objects are highly revered by parliamentary staff and have long been a spiritual anchor for the parliamentary community.
