Ministry of Interior Urgently Orders All Provinces to Survey Fuel Energy Situation Over the Past 7 Days

The Ministry of Interior has issued an urgent order to all provincial governors and district chiefs nationwide to promptly survey the fuel energy situation over the past 7 days up to the present, in order to consider measures for distributing fuel oil to local service stations.

At 6:00 PM on 18 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Arsith Sampantharat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, revealed that to monitor the energy situation and potential local impacts, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has directed the Ministry of Interior to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Commerce. This is to prevent any adverse effects on citizens' daily lives. Earlier this morning, orders were given to the governors of all 76 provinces to coordinate with provincial police commanders to permit fuel transport trucks to operate on local traffic routes 24 hours a day.

They are to report by 9:00 PM today.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior stated that to ensure clear management of the local fuel energy situation and to have comprehensive data for overall area management, the Ministry has instructed provincial governors to assign all 878 district chiefs to survey all fuel service stations in their jurisdictions fully and to compile data for the past 7 days. This information must be urgently collected and reported to the Ministry of Interior by 9:00 PM today, covering four key points:

1. The volume of fuel received compared to normal conditions, indicating whether it has increased or decreased and the reasons for this.

2. Clearly specify the names and locations of the fuel service stations.

3. The volume of fuel sales, noting any increases or decreases.

4. Identify any problems or obstacles in fuel transportation and the measures taken to resolve them.

If anyone is affected, call 1567.

“Provincial governors and district chiefs are to closely supervise the implementation and ensure the accuracy and completeness of the data. This data will be used to consider how to distribute fuel to service stations across the area to prevent impacts on citizens’ daily lives and local businesses. The Ministry of Interior continues to monitor fuel energy management closely in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Commerce. Should the public experience any fuel energy issues, they can report them through the Damrongdhama Center hotline at 1567 free of charge.” The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior said.
