He emphasized the urgency of appointing the cabinet and announcing policies to advance the nation. Meanwhile, Julpan confirmed Pheu Thai's full 100% support by raising hands in approval.

At 8:30 a.m. on 19 March 2026 at meeting room CB406, Parliament Building, the coalition parties, with Bhumjaithai Party as leader, convened a meeting of 16 coalition parties including Pheu Thai, Palang Pracharath, Prachachart, Economic, Pheu Chart, United Thai Nation, New United Thai Nation, New Party, United Thai Heart, Thai Subtawi, People's Power, New Dimension, New Democracy, New Alternative, and New Opportunity Parties ahead of the parliamentary vote for prime minister at 10:00 a.m.

The meeting atmosphere was lively, with MPs from all parties attending in full. Observers noted that Bhumjaithai MPs wore coordinated traditional Thai blue outfits, the party's signature color, in unison.

Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of Bhumjaithai Party, led the coalition party leaders in a press conference. He greeted coalition members, congratulated all who were elected by the people as representatives, and expressed honor at the strong cooperation from all 16 parties forming the government to administer the country for the welfare of the nation and its citizens. He expressed confidence that legislative and executive affairs would proceed smoothly, trusting that members’ strength, experience, qualifications, maturity, and dedication as representatives would lead the country to long-term prosperity.

Anutin expressed gratitude to party leaders, executives, and members of all political parties for their trust and cooperation in supporting him to serve as prime minister in today’s parliamentary session. He also thanked coordinators from all parties for uniting their intentions with harmony.

He assured full cooperation with everyone, not only within the cabinet but also as a member of parliament and representative of the Thai people. He pledged support in all aspects to facilitate smooth and effective work in every constituency. He expressed confidence that their long-standing relationships and shared commitment to serve the nation and its people would continue.

Furthermore, Anutin hoped the coalition parties would work together to benefit the country and its citizens for as long as possible, expecting full cooperation from all members. He assured that, as familiar colleagues, they would respond swiftly and collaboratively on matters concerning the people and the nation to the best of their ability.

Anutin concluded by saying that today there are no big or small political parties, only coalition partners. Regardless of the number of votes, every party is ready to listen when there is a desire to do good for the country and its citizens.

Additionally, after the prime minister is formally appointed, the cabinet formation process will follow. Anutin will accept suggestions from all party leaders to expedite this process. He also pledged to accelerate the government’s policy announcement and is willing to incorporate each party’s policy directions into the main government agenda to manage the country promptly, solve problems, and keep the nation progressing. He reaffirmed his commitment to serve all members, who are representatives of the people.

Pheu Thai Unanimously Resolves to Vote for Anutin

Mr. Julpan Amornwiwat, leader of Pheu Thai Party, stated that yesterday Pheu Thai reached a unanimous decision through an undirected vote by its members themselves, as the matter of joining the government had been clear for some time. The meeting concluded unanimously to vote for Anutin Charnvirakul as the suitable candidate for prime minister. He expressed confidence that this government will be strong enough in numbers to drive solutions for the country’s problems.

Julpan added that urgent issues in Thailand, neighboring countries' border regions, and the Middle East require the swift establishment of a new government with full authority to lead the country and address citizens’ problems. He emphasized that today marks the starting point for this new government to move forward with policies aimed at solving national and public issues.

He further expressed sincere thanks to Anutin for honoring Pheu Thai by inviting them to join the government and for listening to the party’s policies and approaches, allowing their integration into the government’s problem-solving agenda.

Julpan also thanked all members regardless of party affiliation for coming together to cooperate in advancing the state’s ability to solve the people’s problems. He affirmed that Pheu Thai is fully committed at 100% and ready to convene to vote for Anutin as prime minister once again.

Palang Pracharath and Prachachart Reaffirm Support for Anutin

Meanwhile, Ms. Treenuch Thienthong, leader of Palang Pracharath Party, said today there are many challenges that require united effort to swiftly form the government. Palang Pracharath has unanimously resolved to support Anutin Charnvirakul as prime minister and will collaborate with all coalition parties to address national issues.

Mr. Sukarno Mata, secretary-general of Prachachart Party, thanked the prime minister for giving opportunities to Prachachart, a smaller party from the three southern border provinces. After discussions with Bhumjaithai, he brought the matter to Prachachart’s meeting where the party unanimously resolved to support Anutin as prime minister and is ready to work with the government to solve problems for the people.

In total, 293 MPs intend to vote for Anutin as prime minister. However, since the Election Commission has not yet certified the result for Suphanburi district 2, the government’s support count stands at 292 MPs.
