Chris of the Economic Party Backs Anutin, While Doctor Warong Urges Anutin to Set an Example by Buying His Own Rice

'Chris' from the Economic Party supports 'Anutin,' highlighting four proposals that, if accomplished, would make him a statesman of the nation. Meanwhile, 'Doctor Warong' invites 'Anutin' to buy his own rice as an example for MPs.

At 11:20 a.m. on 19 Mar 2026 GMT+7, during the House of Representatives meeting to select the Prime Minister, Mr. Chris Potranan, an MP from the Economic Party's party-list, spoke in support of Anutin as Prime Minister. He explained that the Economic Party has adopted a zero-tolerance anti-corruption policy. There are currently hundreds of laws needing amendment and revision, which aligns with the Bhumjaithai Party's policies. If Anutin can achieve this, it will effectively combat corruption. Secondly, amid global conflicts, Chris believes Anutin will select good, patriotic people to assist. Thirdly, Chris insists on abolishing laws restricting fuel imports; those who can import cheaper fuel should be allowed to sell it. Fourthly, as an engineer, Anutin has already promoted infrastructure development and is expected to push projects like the Ocean Link and high-speed rail, which the Economic Party supports. If all four are accomplished, Anutin will not merely be a three-term Prime Minister but a statesman for the country.

On the other hand, Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom, a party-list MP from the Thai Pakdee Party, stated he would definitely abstain from voting for Mr. Natthapong as Prime Minister because when he proposed canceling MPs' meals, MPs from the People’s Party opposed it. Regarding Anutin, if he leads anti-corruption efforts, he should appoint a reasonable number of Prime Minister’s advisors, not an excessive number for personal rewards. Dr. Warong called on the Prime Minister to publicly declare that he will buy his own meals and not use taxpayer-funded catering services. He believes doing so would win public approval. Therefore, he invited the Prime Minister to have lunch together; this would encourage MPs to act responsibly and earn public praise. A Prime Minister who relinquishes unnecessary privileges would set a positive example for government MPs.
