On 19 March 2026, after closing the debate on qualifications and considering approval for the prime ministerial appointment under Section 159 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, the vote proceeded by roll call of all 499 members of the House of Representatives. Two candidates were nominated: Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, and Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the Prachachon Party, at 12:12 GMT+7.
By 13:06 GMT+7, the vote count showed Anutin Charnvirakul had secured over 251 votes, exceeding half the total members of the House, thus receiving parliamentary approval to be Prime Minister.

The Speaker of the House announced the assembly's approval of Anutin Charnvirakul as Prime Minister and adjourned the session at 13:22 GMT+7.
