Napawit, the prospective People’s Party candidate for Bangkok Council, faces scrutiny due to sharing the same surname as Suriya Wongaree, but he insists he is not related to the 'orange snake' who voted for Anutin as prime minister.


19 Mar 2026 GMT+7 Napawit Wongaree, prospective member of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMC) from the People’s Party, postedon Facebookto clarify the case concerning Suriya Wongaree, MP for Udon Thani’s 7th electoral district from the People’s Party, who was branded a 'snake' after voting for Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, as prime minister.

Napawit stated, “This snake is not my relative. I, Tee-Napawit Wongaree, am with the People’s Party.” Meanwhile, many commenters have asked if they are related, and some questioned why he didn’t run with the Blue Party from the start to resolve the issue.
