Ice Rakchanok Criticizes Parliament Speaker for Closing Session to Avoid Urgent Motion on Oil Crisis

"Ice Rakchanok" criticized "Sophon" for closing the parliamentary session to avoid the People's Party's urgent motion on the "oil crisis," even though half a day's work time remained after the prime minister vote.

On 19 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, a party-list MP of the People's Party, posted on Facebook after Mr. Sophon Saram, Speaker of Parliament, ordered the session closed immediately after the prime minister vote concluded. She said the prime minister vote was done and the position secured, but the parliament had only met for half a day and still had time to continue working. The People's Party expressed their desire to submit an urgent motion.

The "oil crisis" is affecting every life and occupation. Now, people across all regions are suffering everywhere. The public awaits clarity from the government and relief for the problem. Citizens want to see the parliament take action, but Speaker Mr. Sophon Saram, MP for Buriram from the Bhumjaithai Party, closed the session and avoided the issue.
