Anutin Receives Royal Command Appointing Him as 32nd Prime Minister for Second Term

Anutin Charnvirakul received the royal command appointing him as the 32nd Prime Minister for his second term. He expressed his gratitude for the royal benevolence and pledged to perform his duties with full dedication and honesty.


At 13:38 on 20 March 2026, Police Lieutenant Apat Sukanan, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, brought the royal command appointing Anutin Charnvirakul as the 32nd Prime Minister for his second term. He proceeded to the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters on Phahonyothin Road in Chatuchak District, Bangkok, carrying the royal command to the location for its formal acceptance.

The Secretary-General of the House of Representatives then read the royal command appointing the Prime Minister, stating that His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn, Rama X, has graciously issued the royal command to announce that

the House of Representatives voted on 19 March 2026 to approve the appointment of Anutin Charnvirakul as Prime Minister, with a majority of votes exceeding half of all current members.

By virtue of section 158 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, His Majesty has graciously appointed Anutin Charnvirakul as Prime Minister,

effective immediately.
Announced on 19 March 2026, the 11th year of the current reign.

The royal command was accepted by
Sophon Sarum,
Speaker of the House of Representatives.

At 13:40, Anutin paid respects before the royal portrait of His Majesty the King by performing a single prostration, then offered incense, candles, and flowers, followed by three salutes. He then expressed his gratitude for the royal benevolence, saying:

“I humbly acknowledge the royal command appointing me as Prime Minister. I am profoundly honored and deeply grateful beyond measure. This appointment is the highest blessing and source of great encouragement for me and my family. I pledge to uphold this royal benevolence above all.”

“I will dedicate myself to performing my duties to the best of my ability with honesty and integrity, prioritizing the nation’s interests for the welfare of the people and the enduring prosperity of Thailand. I will fulfill the royal intentions in the primary royal command and the Constitution in all respects, with utmost loyalty.”

The ceremony to receive the royal command appointing Anutin Charnvirakul as Prime Minister was attended by his family, including his father Chavarat Charnvirakul, mother Tatsanee Charnvirakul, wife Thanon Charnvirakul, daughter Nainpak Charnvirakul, and son Seranee Charnvirakul, along with Members of Parliament from the Bhumjaithai Party who joined to congratulate him.

Meanwhile, coalition partners also attended the ceremony, including Yotsanan Wongsawat, Julaphan Amornwiwat, Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Prasert Chandraruangthong, Trinuch Thienthong, as well as leaders of smaller parties who came to offer their congratulations.
