The Prachachat Party condemns the brazen attack on MP Kamonsak Liwamo’s vehicle and calls for prayers for everyone’s safety.
On 20 March 2026, reporters reported that an assailant used a military-style firearm to ambush and shoot at the vehicle of Kamonsak Liwamo, 59, MP for Narathiwat District 5 from the Prachachat Party, at 01:09 in front of his residence in Bacho District, Narathiwat Province. This occurred after he returned from a parliamentary session voting for the prime minister. Two people were seriously injured: the driver, 55-year-old Uchalam Kola, and police officer 43-year-old Harirak Himminah, who was escorting him. Both sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Kamonsak, seated in the back, lay down on the seat and narrowly escaped being hit by the gunfire.
Most recently, the Prachachat Party’s Facebook page posted a statement saying: “Let us pray together for the safety of MP Kamonsak Liwamo and the entire delegation. We strongly condemn the perpetrators who brazenly opened fire, an act that severely undermines social peace.”
