Justice Minister Pol. Lt. Gen. Rutthaphol said he was unaware of details after the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) summoned Veerasak and Sudawan Wangsupakitkosol, father and son, to acknowledge charges in the wildlife breeding land encroachment case in Ubon Ratchathani province. He denied that this was a political matter.
At 15:10 on 20 March 2026 at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, Pol. Lt. Gen. Rutthaphol Naowarat, Minister of Justice, commented on the case of Veerasak Wangsupakitkosol, former Deputy Minister of Transport, who was summoned by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to acknowledge charges over encroachment on wildlife breeding land at Hat Suanya in Nam Yuen district, Ubon Ratchathani. He said he was not aware of the details; it was the DSI that called them in.
Regarding Sudawan Wangsupakitkosol, party-list MP and deputy leader of the Pheu Thai Party, who requested a postponement to acknowledge charges, Pol. Lt. Gen. Rutthaphol said he did not know the details. When asked whether the DSI had informed the Minister of Justice about the matter, he said they had not, as it was a case matter and the DSI was handling it independently. When pressed whether Veerasak viewed this as a political issue, Pol. Lt. Gen. Rutthaphol said it was unlikely, as it was a case the DSI was investigating.
