
Deputy Prime Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn is serious about cracking down on fuel hoarding, accelerating investigations after 330,000 liters were found hoarded in Ang Thong province. He revealed the formation of a special task force to conduct inspections nationwide.
At 15:40 on 20 March 2026 GMT+7, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn gave an interview at the Bhumjaithai Party office regarding the case where the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) raided and discovered over 330,000 liters of hoarded fuel in Ang Thong province. He said, "We are currently investigating to identify the owner of the fuel storage facility."
When asked whether he would take serious action against those hoarding fuel, Phiphat did not answer verbally but gave a thumbs-up to the media. Additionally, Phiphat emphasized that the committee is being urged to conduct field inspections, and another special task force will be established to carry out nationwide checks.
Most recently, reporters reported that the Central Investigation Police conducted a raid on the fuel storage in Ang Thong. They collected fuel samples to test for contaminants and compliance with standards. Regarding the investigation into overpricing, the gas station claimed it purchased fuel at an inflated price during the war, at 40.50 baht per liter, and sold it at 41 baht.
