The Royal Gazette published the Ministry of Interior's announcement changing the names of 2 Subdistrict Administrative Organizations in Nong Bua Lamphu Province and 2 in Udon Thani Province, effective from 20 March 2026 GMT+7.
On 21 March 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted that the website of the Royal Gazette published four similar announcements from the Ministry of Interior, all signed by Deputy Minister Songsak Thongsri, acting on behalf of the Minister of Interior, dated 27 February 2026 GMT+7.
The first announcement by the Ministry of Interior concernsthe renaming of Namaphueang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang Nong Bua Lamphu District,Nong Bua Lamphu Province, to Nong Sala Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The Namaphueang SAO requested this change to better reflect the local history and the aspirations of its residents.
Under the authority of Sections 5 and 40, paragraph one, of the Tambon Council and Tambon Administrative Authority Act, B.E. 2537 (1994), the Minister of Interior has ordered the renaming of Namaphueang SAO, Mueang Nong Bua Lamphu District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province, to Nong Sala SAO.
The second announcement renames Nakhamhai SAO, Mueang Nong Bua Lamphu District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province, to Nonsomboon SAO.
The third announcement renames Ban Chiang SAO, Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province, to Doon Kham SAO.
The fourth announcement renames Nong Han SAO, Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province, to Mueang Sai SAO.
All four Ministry of Interior announcements take effect from the date of publication in the Royal Gazette (20 March 2026 GMT+7) onward.
