Submission of Qualifications for 8 Prospective Pheu Thai Ministers Distribution of Biographical Forms Names of Somsak and Monporn Absent

Cabinet Anutin 2: Opening envelopes of Pheu Thai's ministerial quotas, 8 candidates submitted for qualification checks as expected with all 5 key figures present, while 3 new deputy ministers from Central, Northern, and Northeastern regions received forms to fill out their biographies to be submitted by 23 Mar. The names “Somsak” and “Monporn” are absent from the list.


On 21 March 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported progress on forming the Cabinet "Cabinet Anutin 2". The Pheu Thai Party submitted the names of 8 prospective ministers to the Bhumjaithai Party on the afternoon of 20 March 2026 GMT+7.

Regarding the proportions, Pheu Thai's ministers number 5 people. They consist of

  • Professor Yotsanan Wongsawat, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
  • Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
  • Mr. Julapan Amornwiwat, Ministry of Labour.
  • Mr. Prasert Chantraruangthong, Ministry of Education.
  • Ms. Sudawan Wangsupakitkosol, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.

The last two names are pending strict background checks, but if the results are negative, Pheu Thai will have to submit new candidates.

Meanwhile, regarding the proportions There are 3 deputy ministers. They represent the Northern, Northeastern, and Central regions, namely

  • Ms. Piyaratch Tiyapairat, MP for Chiang Rai, prospective Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
  • Mr. Watcharapol Khawkhum, MP for Udon Thani, prospective Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
  • Mr. Akkaranan Kankittinan, MP for Kanchanaburi, prospective Deputy Minister of Education.

It is notable that this ministerial list does not include perennial big-name minister Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin or Ms. Monporn Charoensri, MP for Nakhon Phanom.

However, yesterday, after the royal command appointing the prime minister was received, internal reports from the Bhumjaithai Party stated that the named individuals were informed and given forms to fill out their biographies, which must be submitted by Monday, 23 March 2026 GMT+7.
