Visut Believes If Sudawan Faces Issues, a Network Member Can Replace Her

The Pheu Thai Party is waiting for clarity on the announcement of the 8 prospective ministers at the party seminar on 24 March, confident there will be no internal turmoil, and believes if the name "Sudawan" encounters issues, a network member can be sent to hold the position instead.

On 22 March 2026, Visut Chainarun, a party-list MP of the Pheu Thai Party, spoke about the party's list of 8 ministerial quotas sent to the Bhumjaithai Party. Some may face qualification issues due to cases where the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has pressed charges. He believes the submitted names probably won’t have problems but said they must wait for clarity from the party seminar on 24 March at the SC Park Hotel, where the ministerial names will likely be announced. Many are still confused about which names are real or fake. When asked whether the ministerial list sent by Pheu Thai might have issues regarding Ms. Sudawan Hongsupakijkosol, a party-list MP and deputy party leader nominated as Minister of Social Development and Human Security, because she was summoned by the DSI over a land encroachment case at Hat Suanya government land in Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, Visut replied he was unsure if it would affect her appointment but believed it would not be a problem. If there really is an issue, he said it’s possible someone from the network will be proposed to take her place. Everything is possible.

When asked if most MPs accept the Pheu Thai ministerial list, Visut said opinions vary. Some agree, others do not. It is normal in politics to have differing views or satisfaction levels about the released names. Ultimately, everyone must respect the party’s resolution. He does not expect any internal upheaval to occur. Regarding the New Gen group within Pheu Thai receiving many ministerial quotas this time, Visut said it might be because they are more capable, while the older members may lack ability. It depends on the party’s decision. There is no problem.
