Democrat Party Launches Watch Platform to Tackle High Prices, Links Data with Government for Price Control

The Democrat Party has launched the "Watch" platform to help address rising prices. Kandy revealed it aims to assist low-income groups and enable the government to utilize the data for price monitoring and control.

At 11:00 a.m. on 23 March 2026, at the Democrat Party headquarters, Ms. Kandy Liao Phairoj and Mr. Korn Chatikavanij, party-list MPs and deputy party leaders, along with their team, held a press conference outlining ways to assist people amid rising living costs. They highlighted the use of digital technology as a key tool for providing tangible relief.

Ms. Kandy explained that ongoing foreign conflicts have directly affected energy prices and production costs, leading to higher prices for consumer goods. The Democrat Party therefore proposes the "Watch" platform, a digital tool that transforms citizens from merely affected parties into "co-monitoring" participants who can report issues in real time through civic engagement mechanisms. She emphasized their confidence in the power of data and public voices. Besides serving as a price report map, the "Watch" platform can also act as an early warning system to promptly detect abnormal price hikes and stockpiling nationwide.

Ms. Kandy added that the initial version of the system, featuring key summary data displayed on an intelligent map, is complete. It will be integrated with the party’s Line Official Account to maximize public accessibility. The platform can be trialed at https://liff.line.me/2009555163-09I8zuzR. On 24 March, the party’s Tech Lab team will conduct detailed system testing before the official launch. The core data from this platform will be analyzed to develop targeted assistance policies, especially for low-income earners, SME operators, and farmers most affected. The Democrat Party also intends to open an API (Application Programming Interface) to securely allow government agencies such as the Ministry of Commerce and the Department of Internal Trade to access the data for price monitoring, ensuring transparency and maximizing public benefit.
