The Palang Pracharath Party (PPT) and Pheu Thai Party held policy discussions before preparing a statement for Parliament. Manaporn revealed that Pheu Thai primarily focuses on social issues, while Paopoom requested consultations to determine which policies can be continued, emphasizing the need to adjust policies to be balanced and consistent.
At 1:00 p.m. on 23 March 2026 at the Palang Pracharath Party headquarters, Ms. Manaporn Charoensri, Deputy Leader of the Pheu Thai Party, along with Mr. Paopoom Rojanasakul, also Deputy Leader of Pheu Thai, met with leaders of the Palang Pracharath Party to discuss policies for the upcoming policy statement.
Ms. Manaporn, Deputy Leader of Pheu Thai, said today they discussed policies shared by both Pheu Thai and Palang Pracharath, including those to be included in the Prime Minister's policy statement. Pheu Thai mainly focuses on social policies. In addition to discussing policy, they also talked about collaboration within the government whip and the framework for working in the House of Representatives.
Mr. Paopoom, Deputy Leader of Pheu Thai, stated that the policies Pheu Thai will include in the policy statement are those the party previously campaigned on and that fall within its responsibilities. They will need to discuss any limitations or policies with similarities to move forward together.
When asked whether Pheu Thai's policies left unfinished during the Srettha and Paetongtarn governments would be seen, Mr. Paopoom said discussions are needed. So far, they have not yet decided which policies can be continued or fulfilled as promised during campaigns. Today’s meeting is considered an official discussion where policy details will be reviewed.
When asked if Pheu Thai’s policies would be adopted in full or need adaptation to align with Palang Pracharath’s policies, Mr. Paopoom said that as coalition partners, policies must be balanced. Working together requires some adjustments to ensure consistency and allow progress for the greatest benefit to the people and the country.
Asked whether he would agree if Palang Pracharath adjusted some of Pheu Thai’s policies, Mr. Paopoom said discussions are necessary to reach the best policies for the public and effective cooperation as coalition partners.
