Julapun Affirms MPs Duty to Reflect Peoples Issues to Government Amid Oil Shortage

The Pheu Thai Party is preparing to debate the oil issue in Parliament tomorrow. Julapun Amornwiwat affirms it is the duty of MPs to bring problems to the government's attention. The party plans to push 47 bills into this parliamentary session.

On 24 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Julapun Amornwiwat, leader of the Pheu Thai Party, spoke about a seminar to educate Pheu Thai MPs at SC Park Hotel. He said it was training before the parliamentary session begins, especially for many new MPs. Officials from Parliament were invited to explain motions, questions, debates, and MPs' benefits. The Pheu Thai Party aims to work constructively, scrutinize the government’s actions, and advance laws and policies beneficial to the public.

Mr. Julapun said the Pheu Thai Party has already submitted more than 10 bills to Parliament, with 47 scheduled for this session. Asked about preparations for energy-related motions, he said they have been ready for two weeks. If the Prime Minister proposes such a motion at the vote, the party is ready to debate it. The motion covers not only energy but also the impact of the Middle East situation, particularly the evident issue of oil allocation problems despite claims of sufficient supply. This is a key matter that all MPs, opposition or government, must address. Beyond oil, there are further impacts on the economy and consumer goods prices, which will rise. These problems must be reflected to the government to prepare and solve them for the people.

Asked if there were questions about cabinet positions, specifically “Anutin 2,” Julapun said there were none, as it was not on the agenda. Today's focus is on parliamentary work, and all members remain united. In the afternoon, there will be team-building activities to foster participation and closeness. He confirmed no members showed discord; everyone is ready to move forward regardless of party position allocations, understanding that future opportunities remain. The emphasis is on the party’s ability to drive benefits through government participation. He reaffirmed there are no problems.
