Watch closely as the People's Party decides on punishment today for the Udon Thani Constituency 7 'snake.' Meanwhile, Veerayut prepares MPs for the government policy debate.
At 09:30 on 24 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the People's Party held an MPs meeting chaired by Party Leader Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut. The agenda covered multiple topics including training for new MPs, the government policy statement, and an urgent motion concerning the oil fund. Later in the afternoon, the meeting was set to discuss how to handle Mr. Suriya Wongaree, MP for Udon Thani Constituency 7, who is labeled a 'snake'.
Deputy Party Leader Mr. Veerayut Kanchuchat was interviewed regarding the cabinet lineup of Prime Minister Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul's government. He said, "I will wait for the finalized list first." Preparations for the government policy debate are underway. During today's MPs meeting, discussions included possible topics the People's Party might raise during the policy statement. Currently, they are preparing two main issues: the urgent motion on the oil crisis and the government policy debate itself.
When asked whether the meeting would finalize the stance on the 'snake' issue today, Mr. Veerayut said, "It is one of the agenda items to discuss with MPs today." A working group has already spoken with Mr. Suriya and will report back with conclusions in today's MPs meeting. Regarding reports that Mr. Suriya is in debt and therefore accepted money as a 'snake,' Mr. Veerayut stated, "We need to assess the situation first, and a decision will likely be made today."
