Center for Middle East Affairs Reveals Thai Deceaseds Body to Arrive in Thailand on Morning of 26 March

The Center for Middle East Affairs revealed that four Thai shrimp farm workers arrived in Thailand on 25 March, while the body of the deceased Thai national will arrive on the morning of 26 March. It was explained that "Sihasak" made a phone call to the Saudi Foreign Minister hoping to end the conflict.

At 11:05 a.m. on 24 March 2026 at the Government House, the Center for Management and Monitoring of Conflict Situations in the Middle East (CMEA) gave its daily briefing. Mr. Panidol Patchimsawat, Acting Director-General of the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Spokesperson, stated that overall tensions in the Middle East remain high, with retaliatory attacks between main conflicting parties and ongoing attacks on member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), most of which have been intercepted.

Mr. Panidol said that in the evening of 23 March Thailand time, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on social media that the United States and Iran had productive talks about ending hostilities in the Middle East. The U.S. ordered a five-day delay in attacks on Iranian energy infrastructure. However, reports denied such talks occurred, and attacks continued afterwards. The situation remains highly uncertain, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Thai nationals to leave risky areas promptly, stay informed of news and guidance, and register with responsible embassies.

Mr. Panidol stated that the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, is coordinating with relevant agencies and airlines to arrange the repatriation of the deceased worker’s body, which will arrive in Thailand on the morning of 26 March. Meanwhile, the embassies in Tehran and Ankara, along with the Consular Department, have coordinated the evacuation of four Thai shrimp farm workers from Bandar Abbas, a southern Iranian coastal city. All four safely crossed into Turkey and are scheduled to return to Thailand on the morning of 25 March. Additionally, seven Thai students and one shrimp farm worker, totaling eight people, will travel by land from Iran to Turkey on 25 March.

Mr. Panidol added that following requests from the Thai Foreign Minister and the Thai side for cooperation regarding the safety of commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, some Thai commercial vessels have safely exited the danger zone. The government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will continue to prioritize the safe passage of commercial shipping.

Mr. Panidol said that on the evening of 23 March, Mr. Sihasak Puangketkaew, the Foreign Minister, spoke by phone with the Saudi Foreign Minister to thank him for facilitating the safe return of Thai nationals from regional countries through Saudi Arabia. Both sides exchanged views on the Middle East situation, expressing a shared hope to see the conflict end swiftly through diplomatic efforts and respect for the United Nations Charter.

Mr. Panidol emphasized for Thais still in the Middle East to closely monitor official channels to regularly assess their safety and strictly follow government advice. Since the conflict began, 1,483 Thais have been assisted to leave dangerous areas in the Middle East to either Thailand or third countries. The Thai government remains committed to helping affected Thais in the region to leave danger zones safely at the earliest opportunity.
