Kla Tham Party Urges Immediate Motion on Energy Crisis Thammanat Instructs 58 MPs to Be Constructive Opposition

The Kla Tham Party verbally submitted an urgent motion to the assembly on the energy crisis. Atthakorn pointed out that many MPs want to debate the issue. He revealed that Thammanat instructed 58 MPs to perform as a constructive opposition, safeguarding the country's and people's interests.

At 16:45 on 24 March 2026 GMT+7. Mr. Atthakorn Sirilattayakorn, Member of Parliament for Chachoengsao from the Kla Tham Party. He revealed after the first informal meeting of the Opposition Whip Committee that Mr. Sanya Nilsuphan, MP for Nakhon Sawan, will verbally submit an urgent motion to the assembly on 25 March to enable MPs to collectively propose solutions to the current energy crisis affecting people nationwide.

Mr. Atthakorn further stated that the Kla Tham Party intended to submit this motion since the parliamentary session on 19 March but could not proceed because the Speaker closed the meeting early. Tomorrow, many party MPs wish to debate this issue, as it directly impacts the people's cost of living.

“Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat Prompao, party list MP and chief advisor of the Kla Tham Party, has instructed party MPs to act as a constructive opposition. He said Kla Tham has 58 MPs—not a small party—and must fully perform its role as the opposition, not as a vengeful faction. Being opposition MPs can be dignified and admirable because we are committed to protecting the nation's and people's interests seriously. Therefore, the content to be debated in parliament must be factual and genuinely reflect the people's problems.”
