Anutin Admits Diesel Price Freeze Removal Affects Public, No Reports of Fights Over Fuel

Prime Minister Anutin said he has not received any reports of villagers fighting over fuel. He acknowledged that ending the diesel price freeze affects the public, pointing out that ministry mechanisms must be used to resolve the issue. He revealed that everyone is currently working to manage public sentiment during this time.

On 25 Mar 2026 at 09:16 GMT+7, reporters at the Parliament Building reported that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul arrived driving his personal electric car, a gray BYD Sealion 7 with temporary license plate ฎ 9798 Bangkok, to attend a parliamentary session discussing energy motions, as part of a campaign to conserve fuel.

Reporters then asked about the energy crisis causing public clashes over fuel. He responded, "If you ask like that, I won’t answer. I don’t know and have not received any reports."

When pressed whether the government must intervene to resolve the crisis, Anutin said he was unaware and had received no reports. Reporters asked if ending the diesel price freeze would affect product prices and citizens’ livelihoods. Anutin replied, "There will be some impact. We must use the mechanisms within our ministries."

When asked how the government would manage public sentiment during this period, Anutin said, "Everyone is currently working on it."
