
The Prime Minister led discussions to resolve the energy crisis and public assistance measures. Eknat joined the meeting, and Ekniti revealed that all plans to address the energy crisis are complete, awaiting immediate implementation by the new government. He stressed that the global oil market is currently very volatile.
At 14:00 on 25 March 2026, at the Thai Khu Fah Building, Government House. Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister, called a meeting with ministers and relevant agencies to discuss solutions to the energy crisis. Present were Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport; Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Atthapol Rerkpiboon, Minister of Energy; Police Lieutenant General Rutthapol Naowarat, Minister of Justice; Lawan Sangsnit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance; Danucha Pichayanan, Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC); and Eknat Phompun, party-list MP from the Bhumjaithai Party, who is expected to become Minister of Energy in the new cabinet, along with other relevant agencies.
Before the meeting, Ekniti revealed, he wished to consult with the Prime Minister before briefing on oil matters and assistance measures, noting that global oil prices are currently very volatile. When asked by reporters about public concerns and the timing of assistance measures, Ekniti stated, that everything is fully prepared. Once the new government is formed, assistance measures will be implemented. If new information arises today, it will be announced, and measures to reduce the cost of living will be presented, as the global oil market remains highly unstable.
Regarding adjustments for goods prices that fluctuate with oil prices, Ekniti said the Ministry of Commerce will report on product prices, and the Ministry of Transport will handle matters related to the transportation sector.
