Anutin Signs Order to Establish Ministry of Interior Operations Center to Coordinate Central and Provincial Actions

Anutin Chanvirakul signed a Ministry of Interior order establishing the Ministry of Interior Operations Center to integrate subordinate operations and coordinate central and provincial offices to act in the same direction, appointing Assisit as the center’s director.


On 27 March 2026, Mr. Assisit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, disclosed that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Chanvirakul signed Ministry of Interior Order No. 736/2569 dated 25 March 2026 concerning the establishment of an operations center. The order establishes the Ministry of Interior’s Center for Management and Monitoring of the Conflict Situation in the Middle East.

Mr. Assisit stated that the order aims to ensure effective, unified, and timely problem-solving and mitigation of impacts from the conflict in the Middle East. Since the Ministry of Interior has a key mission to relieve hardship, promote well-being, and maintain public order nationwide, it is necessary to have a ministry-level agency to integrate operations of its agencies and coordinate actions between central and provincial offices to follow the same direction.

The Ministry of Interior Operations Center has six main responsibilities:

1. To monitor, analyze, and assess the situation and its impacts.

2. To integrate operations of the Ministry’s agencies and relevant organizations.

3. To set guidelines, measures, and plans for assisting the public.

4. To command and coordinate operations of provinces, districts, and local administrative organizations.

5. To report the situation and operational results to the Center for Management and Monitoring of the Conflict Situation in the Middle East.

6. To disseminate accurate information to the public and perform other assigned duties.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior serves as the center’s director, with the Deputy Permanent Secretary, head of internal security affairs, and the Permanent Secretary of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration as deputy directors. The center’s committee includes directors-general of the Department of Provincial Administration, Department of Community Development, Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Department of Local Administration; chief ministry inspectors; advisors to the Ministry Secretariat; assistant permanent secretaries; governors of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority and Provincial Electricity Authority; governors of the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority and Provincial Waterworks Authority; and the director of the Market Organization.

The director of the Policy and Planning Bureau of the Ministry Secretariat and the director of the Academic and Planning Division of the Department of Provincial Administration serve as committee members and secretaries. The directors of the Legal Bureau, Inspection and Complaints Bureau, Foreign Affairs Division, Information Division of the Ministry Secretariat, and the director of the Ministry of Interior News Operations Center serve as committee members and assistant secretaries.
