A former Prachachon youth camp member exposes major issues with the new Suthisan Police Station's strange design: the stairs to the second floor are unusable. Suspicious budget details of 139 million baht and construction delays exceeding the planned three years were also found.
On 29 March 2026, Pol. Lt. Col. Theerawat Panyanathamkul, a former Prachachon Party list MP candidate, posted on Facebook exposing irregularities in the new Metropolitan Police Suthisan Station building. He highlighted confusing design flaws, notably that the stairs from the first floor do not actually connect to the second floor, raising questions about the design standards and use of taxpayers' money.
Pol. Lt. Col. Theerawat added that besides the unusual unusable staircase, there is a narrow entrance to the parking building that is difficult to maneuver, and an office room under the parking lot with a window directly aligned with a large foundation pile. The project’s official budget was 162 million baht, but the joint venture DYC Construction won the bid at 139 million baht, 23 million less. It was scheduled for completion in 2023, but as of 2026, the work remains unfinished, delayed by three years.
The former Prachachon MP candidate also noted that among the contractors is China Railway No. 10 Company, a firm previously involved in controversies in other construction projects. He expressed concerns about the structural safety, especially following recent earthquake events.
Pol. Lt. Col. Theerawat concluded by lamenting the wasted budget and sympathizing with police officers forced to work in a building with such major defects. He urged an urgent investigation into transparency and construction standards, noting that the welfare rooms in the newly built 10-story building cost as much as high-end rental condominiums in the area, yet the construction quality is completely contrary to expectations.
