
NIDA Poll reveals first quarter political popularity with people supporting "Nattapong Ruangpanyawut" as prime minister and favoring the Prachachon Party as the party to support today.
On 29 March 2026 GMT+7, the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) announced the results of its survey titled "Quarterly Political Popularity Survey No. 1/2026." Conducted from 19-24 March 2026 GMT+7, it surveyed 2,500 citizens aged 18 and over across all regions, educational levels, occupations, and income brackets nationwide. The survey used probabilistic sampling from NIDA Poll's Master Sample database, employing multi-stage sampling and telephone interviews, with a margin of error not exceeding 0.05 at a 97.0% confidence level.
The survey asked respondents which individual they would support as prime minister today, finding that the top choice was:
30.60% named Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut (Prachachon Party). The second was 29.40% naming Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul (Bhumjaithai Party). The third was 10.92% naming Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva (Democrat Party). The fourth was 8.20% indicating they have not found a suitable candidate. The fifth was 8.08% naming Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat (Pheu Thai Party).
The sixth was 2.64% naming General Rangsi Kitiyanantap (Economic Party). Seventh was 1.76% naming Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan (Thai Sang Thai Party). Eighth was 1.56% naming Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom (Thai Pak Party). Ninth was 1.28% naming Mr. Peeraphan Salirutwipak (Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party). The tenth was 1.16% naming General Prayut Chan-o-cha.
Additionally, 4.20% named others including Police General Sereepisuth Temeeyaves (Seri Ruam Thai Party), Mr. Julapan Amornwiwat (Pheu Thai Party), Captain Thammanat Prompao (Kla Party), Mrs. Suphajee Suthamphan, Miss Treenuch Thianthong (Palang Pracharath Party), Mr. Mongkolkit Suksintharanon (New Alternative Party).
Others named included Mr. Jatuporn Boonpattana (New Opportunity Party), Mr. Chuan Leekpai (Democrat Party), Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat (Thai Khao Mai Party), Miss Sirikanya Tansakul (Prachachon Party), Mr. Rangsiman Rome (Prachachon Party).
Also mentioned were Mr. Wasawat Puangpornsi (Thai Ruam Palang Party), Dr. Veerayut Kanjuchat (Prachachon Party), Miss Rakchanok Srinok (Prachachon Party), Mr. Kulis Sombatsiri, Mr. Chaturon Chaisang (Pheu Thai Party), Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Mr. Parit Watcharasindhu (Prachachon Party), Mr. Wan Muhamad Nor Matha (Prachachat Party), Mr. Vikrom Kromdit, Mr. Suphanat Meunchainan (Prachachon Party), and General Boonsin Padklang. Meanwhile, 0.20% did not answer or were not interested.
When asked which political party people would support today, the results were: first, 35.80% chose the Prachachon Party; second, 26.60% chose the Bhumjaithai Party; third, 12.04% chose the Pheu Thai Party; fourth, 11.64% chose the Democrat Party; fifth, 4.60% indicated they have not found a suitable party; sixth, 2.44% chose the Economic Party; seventh, 1.76% chose the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party.
Eighth was 1.28% for the Thai Pak Party; ninth was 1.24% for the Thai Sang Thai Party; and 2.32% named others including the Kla Party, Seri Ruam Thai Party, Palang Pracharath Party, Prachachat Party, Thai Khao Mai Party, New Opportunity Party, and Thai Teachers for the People Party. Meanwhile, 0.28% did not answer or were not interested.
