Elderly Man Disrupts Government House, Drives Past Police Checkpoint to Thai Khu Fa Building, Shouts for Anutin

An elderly man rode a motorcycle past a police checkpoint to the front of the Thai Khu Fa building at Government House, shouting for “Anutin,” claiming unfair treatment and demanding compensation before being detained by security police and removed from the area.

On 30 March 2026 at 10:20 a.m., reporters at Government House reported that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul had left Government House to attend an external engagement. Then at 10:35 a.m., a notorious former taxi driver rode a motorcycle to the front of the Thai Khu Fa building, entering via the Chamai Maru Chet Bridge gate and then through Gate 2, which is the Prime Minister’s exit gate. He honked his horn and shouted for the Prime Minister. Government House police officers tried to intercept him on motorcycle but failed. The man shouted that he was disabled and had been treated unfairly for 18 days. He also claimed to be a lifelong member of the Bhumjaithai Party, from the same hometown as Mr. Newin Chidchob, chairman of Buriram United Football Club, and Mr. Sophon Sarum, Speaker of the House of Representatives. He further stated, “Please show sympathy for a fellow Buriram resident. I voted for the Bhumjaithai Party. After the battle, will you kill the generals?” Four Government House police officers approached and tried to calm him down before escorting him onto a motorcycle—one officer driving and another sitting behind—taking him to the Government House Complaint Center at the Office of the Civil Service Commission for further processing.

Reporters also noted that this man has caused similar disturbances several times before, such as driving a taxi to park in front of the Thai Khu Fa building at Government House during the administration of former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, as well as at the old Parliament building on U Thong Nai Road. He also demonstrated similar behavior at the Ministry of Culture during former Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra’s administration. In addition, he has previously protested in similar fashion at the Pheu Thai, Bhumjaithai, and Democrat Party offices, as well as other government agencies.
